Share
Night City evolves once more with Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077, now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt Red delivers a blend of new features, customization options, and fixes aimed at elevating the player experience.
Customization Reimagined: CrystalCoat™ and TWINTONE™ Take the Spotlight
The update introduces a major boost to vehicle personalization with Rayfield's CrystalCoat™ technology, now compatible with brands like Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra, and Villefort. Players can use this feature to customize their rides’ paint jobs and even evade the NCPD by altering their vehicle’s appearance.
Paired with this is the new TWINTONE™ color scheme system, accessible via Kiroshi optics. This allows players to scan vehicles, save color schemes, and apply unique or generic designs to their compatible rides. Quest-related and NCPD vehicles remain off-limits, but most cars marked with a spray can icon are ready for a makeover.
Night City car enthusiasts will also be thrilled to see ten new fan-favorite vehicles added to Autofixer’s inventory, including the Quadra Type-66 680 TS and Phantom Liberty exclusives like the Villefort Deleon V410-S Coupe.
Photo Mode Gets a Major Overhaul
Cyberpunk 2077's Photo Mode has received a comprehensive upgrade, introducing features such as:
- Drone Camera with extended range and new collision and locking options.
- Customizable aspect ratios (PC only).
- NPC posing with a library of over 20 characters, alongside options for expressions and positions.
- Lighting tools for fine-tuned illumination.
Additionally, the new SmartFrames™ by Kiroshi lets players showcase their Photo Mode masterpieces in V's apartments. Screenshots can now be uploaded to a gallery accessible in-game.
Expanded Character Creator
The update adds over 100 new customization options for V, including:
- 32 eye colors, 18 lip makeup types, 17 nail colors, and more.
- A Plain-to-Punk randomizer slider to create anything from understated to bold looks.
Quest and World Fixes
Several quests and open-world activities have been improved:
- Clearer objectives for time-sensitive quests.
- Fixes for progression blockers in missions like Cyberpsycho Sighting: Where the Bodies Hit the Floor and Heroes.
- Improved stealth mechanics in quests like Dream On.
Phantom Liberty missions also see crucial bug fixes, including accessibility improvements for Run This Town and Hi Ho Silver Lining.
Gameplay and Technical Updates
From smoother katana animations to better RAM cost tracking for quickhacks, Update 2.2 polishes gameplay mechanics. The Synaptic Accelerator bug has been resolved, and vehicle combat no longer triggers unwanted horn honks when reloading.
PC players benefit from performance optimization, particularly on Intel Arrow Lake CPUs, and enjoy enhanced Razer Chroma effects in key Phantom Liberty moments.
